Where abouts in europe is it cool to smoke reefer and maybe indulge in a little bit of shrooms and exstasy?

I know that the obvious response is ‘The Netherlands’ , and I am well aware of this route. However, I am curious of other places in Europe that it is ok to do these things. I know that the Czech has Wormwood filled absinthe, which should be cool, do they have coffeeshops as well?

My whole reason for going to europe is not to do these things, however, I just want to make sure that when I do indulge, I don’t get totally busted, and end up in some prison cell with a bloke named "Jimmy the Tooth", Who likes long walks on the beach and doing me in the arse.

Anyways, I know its kind of an odd question, and if you aren’t into this type of stuff, and just want to bitch and complain about "how immature" I am, or how much of a waste of time and money it is, don’t bother responding. I wouldn’t respond to a post about something I am not interested in, and I expect the same in return.

However, any useful advice would be awsome. Keep up the Party!

There are no above-board coffeeshops anywhere in Europe except the Netherlands. And as for the wormwood, you are at least a decade late. There may be one distillery which still includes the stuff, but for the most part, that has all been phased out.

Extacy and harder drugs are more common in party places (e.g., Ibiza). For smoking, you’ll just have to find a lonely street corner or a friendly hostel. It’s all over, but it’s not legal. You’re probably fine with shrooms as long as you don’t cause a scene.

When I encountered hash, it was from the nice young Australian gentlemen that shared my hostel room in Barcelona. The absinthe I drank was also in Barcelona. I can’t remember where, but if you search my posts, I mentioned it before. This was in 1998.

You would have to check the legality of smoking, because I am not sure about that. I don’t know if any countries either decriminalize or just ignore drug use.

It has been my travel experience that the street or beach vendors who sell pipes for drugs typically sell the drugs themselves, or know a nearby place to buy drugs. If you do go this route, trust your instinct, and promptly walk away from a vendor who seems WAY too eager to hook you up with substance to fill your new pipe.

Make sure to hold onto your valuables if and when you do &quotartake." There is such a thing as having too good a time.

One last thing. Make sure you ditch your pipe completely when you are going to travel anywhere near drug dogs. Even a hint of resin (residue) will get you busted, at least in the U.S.

Happy travels, and I’m sure you will find lots of fun. Best of luck avoiding "Jimmy."

I wouldnt go near harder drugs in europe…There is a decent chance you will get caught and alot of the dealers also act as stooges for the cops…Pot you can get away with because most will turn a blind eye and again ok with shrooms if you dont make a scene but doing hard stuff is dodgy and could get you into trouble…Further more why would anyone want to do X i understand pot and shrooms but X?

Spain, Switzerland, Belgium and Berlin (not sure about all of Germany), from what I have been told have to some significant extent decriminalized cannibis use. Hash is pretty openly smoked in Spain. (In basically any big city you can walk to a local square where folks hangout and there will be at least one Morrocan selling "chocolate".)
Copenhagen had Christiana freestate where soft drugs were/are sold and tolerated but I don’t know if that’s still around or not anymore.

Pusher street in Christiania is history now, unfortunately.

As for where smoke and pills are cool the answer is, everywhere, as long as you’re smart and discreet about it. If you are into it, plenty of opportunities will find you, lots of backpackers and locals have similar interests.
