Driving from Calais to Sofia

HI,

I’m driving down to Sofia allowing 4 days down and 3 days back, can anyone give any advice to what’s the best route and any other general tips?

we are hoping to stay in some campsites on the way down so any tips here would also be welcome.

Seems like a reasonably comfortable pace for just driving — obviously you’re not planning on sightseeing other than a stop or two and what you see as you drive by. Try Google Maps or Mapquest for a routing — maybe using that for the shorter trip back since it will be the most direct (or maybe fastest or shortest) route.

Wow, that’s a long trip!

The route should be pretty straight forward, thru Frankfurt, Austria, Zagreb…..

don’t forget to buy a highway vignet when you enter Austria!

You will pass many nice cities, a stop in Regensburg or Munich would be nice. Or make a small detour and visit Venice and Dubrovnik
