We’re leaving Lost Wages NV tomorrow. Good thing too, since I discovered video blackjack! Anyway, to get back to KY, we’re driving into Idaho, Montana, North Dakota, South Dakota, Minnesota, and down home thru Wisconsin, Michigan and Ohio. Except for WI, MI and OH these will be new states for me. So, we plan to take the non interstates when feasible, and try to see some scenery, parks, interesting sites along the way.
Anyone have route tips, suggestions, cool places to see, stay in or eat at? Lodging budget is in the $50-$65 range.
Any good guide books on this general area? ( I don’t know what to call it… mid-north?)
Thanks!

*edited because when I looked at Mapquest, adding the pacific coast made it an 84 hour drive.
