If you are with a few mates then hiring a car is definetely the way to go. I drove from Dublin, went South and saw the Ring of Kerry and Dingle, the Cliffs of Mohr and more in a week. We stayed at cheap hostels (and the odd bed and breakfast) and they were mint. You’ll have a ball!!
