Dubai, as most people know it, is a rich and wealthy city. I’m intrested in visiting and I would like to know the usual: hostels (or cheap housing), and things to see and do.

I don’t know about the hostel scene, but I do know many people who live there (mostly expatriates from Britain and India) who LOVE it there and say that it’s very very nice…gorgeous beaches, lovely resorts. From my impressions of Dubai, it’s mostly full of fairly well-off business people and tourists vacationing at resorts. I’m not sure that it’s a backpacker’s place, but good luck!

The only thing I can think of Dubai would be the gold shops and the newly built 7 star hotel that looks like a sail which apparently is a major tourist attraction.

Maybe you should consider Baharain as an option included in the trip !!!!
