Eating for as little as possible
Tue, 01/05/2010 - 11:08
This is my first time planning a Eurotrip and I was wondering how I can eat for cheap. I will be spending most of my time in the U.K. and a few days in Copenhagen. The whole trip will last about 3 weeks.

ok then, i live in England and if you havent got any inspiration yet for the cheap food i’d like to advise you pay a trip to supermarkets, iceland and summerfield will be by far the cheapest but all of them have very cheap food for you.
oven cook Pizzas are about £1 each maybe more depending where you go
supernoodles about 3 for £1 if you go to the pound shops, or about 50p each everywhere else.
you just have to look areound really but since most of your places are in the UK i can safely say it will be cheap for you
if your only doing 3weeks and have quite a bit to spend though i’d advise you check out restraunts they aernt that expensive compared with other places in Europe.
As well as this try a Great british pub lunch you’ll find that for a few quid maybe £10ish you’ll get carveries and maybe some drinks. Curry nights are also very good.
dont know if thats what sort of info you were looking for but if not feel free to fire away
That’s more info than I was expecting, but thanks for being so thorough. It’s good to know I can go to Europe without spending all my money on food.
Don’t miss out completely. If you can, plan at least 1 splurge. Would be a shame if you’re a Jamie Oliver or Gordon Ramsey fan in London (for example) and skip one of their restaurants just to stick to a budget — you know what I mean?
Netto in both countries is good for dry pasta, sauces, drinks—basics for cheap. You might get more inspiration in Tesco or Asda, however (UK, not DK).
In DK, Aldi is also good for basics; check Fotex if you need more inspiration.
I just read an article about London in the anti-Eurotrip (Conde Nast Traveler) and the author recommends http://www.leonresta… for decent cheap food. Not as cheap as a supermarket, but doesn’t look bad.
