Has anyone heard of or found travelguides in e-format, i.e. downloadable into palm pilots or PDAs etc.? Think I read somewhere that Lonely Planet was going to do something like that a few years back, but haven’t heard anything since and can’t find anything about it on their website.

and, while on the topic: if they are a reality, would you use them? I prefer to travel really light and has always found the 1200 page guides a little inconvenient both in size and weight, so I defenitely would. I realize that I’m a gadget geek and that maybe some of you would object to bring little e-gadgets backpacking, but it would be interesting to know.
