Hi all,
We (2 adults, 3 children) leave April 4 for Amsterdam. While choosing seats I noticed that there are 4 rows of elite seats (rows 14-17) which are completely empty. I called NW to sweet talk them, but they told me that the seats were not availabel (as in already booked, not unavailable to me). I know they are not booked, since you can choose them on the site, so I am thinking when she pulled up the booking code it just blocked them out for my fare or non elite status.
My question is: presuming these seats are still available, which they apparently are, what is the best strategy for getting into them? They are not first class, just couch closer to the front of the plane with perhaps a bit more room. Is it best to try and get them before the flight, or ask the desk agent? If I call in, how should I ask? I mean, if they are going to be empty anyway, why not try? Thanks!
