Hello,
My partner and I are traveling to London for the second time. We will mostly be staying with family but we are looking for suggestions and interested in doing an affordable weekend trip somewhere.
Last time we visited we did most all of the main attractions Big Ben, Buckingham Palace, the London Eye and the Tate Museum. We also did one day trip to Bath and Stonehenge.
We like museums, nature, we are interested in renting bikes to bike the city. I just read something about “Little Venice” in London.
Are there other suggestions in and around London- the insider’s secret?
Also for weekend trips maybe a cute and affordable bed and breakfast in a coastal town?
Please share your ideas!
Thank you!
I am leaving from London with $500 for 4 days
The British Museum is free and it could keep you interested for weeks. Hampton Court is a great 1/2 to full day trip from London. I could spend two days just people watching in Kennsington/Hyde parks. A great way to see St. Paul’s for free (admission to church and dome is around 7 GBP) and experience the amazing acoustics is to go to evening song service: Monday through Saturday at 17:00, Sunday at 15:15 or to go to the free concert Sundays at 17:00.
We enjoyed a day in Dover because of the fascinating castle and stayed in a very nice B&B, but you might find Brighton or Hastings more of a “cute B&B” type of place.
Speaker’s Corner at Hyde Park on Sundays.
The rooftop garden at 99 Kensington.
There are some cute b&b’s in Bath, but obviously it’s not coastal.
