I got some suggestions about Haggis tours in England. I’m thinking of booking with them (well I don’t have much choice it seems) for a 7 day England and Wales tour on Aug 6th. The site says it’s around $350 with not much info after that on what’s included.

Has anyone gone to one of those? What is included in the price? Guide and ride only? How much should I have for 7 Days worth of food, attractions and lodging? I understand they do the hostel/hotel reservations. Will those places have free/cheap breakfast?

Thanks for your help.

Gaby

I did the 3 day Haggis tour from Edinburgh.

Lodging is NOT included, so you have to budget for that daily.  They will arrange all you accomadations, but if you want a more private room etc. you have to let them know beforehand. They didn’t stay in very expensive places on the tour I did, but it is Britain, so it’s all expensive anyway.

Also you have to buy all your food.  Some hostels may have free breakfast, but otherwise your on your own.  One of the hostels we stayed at did have an “all you can eat potato dinner” one night, and it was a cheap good meal.   We did stop at a restaurant as well one day, because they have good food and really quick service.

The guides are great!!  They’re very knowledgeable, but funny at the same time.  They’re young and the type that will sit down in the bar with you for a drink after a day of touring.

I just went on a 4 day Haggis tour in England and loved it! The cost covers transportation and the guide. You have to pay for entrance to attractions, the hostels and for food. Our hostels all had breakfast provided, and I made stops at grocery stores along the way for cheap lunches/dinners. The rooms were the large shared rooms (standard hostel rooms). They are very consious of the fact that they gear their tours towards budget minded travellers and we were always told of the exact cost of the rooms/attractions before we went there. All attractions are optional. Had tons of fun, would recommend going with this group Smile
