my husband and i are going to scotland, france, and italy in september and we’re considering getting a eurail pass. i’ll still be 25 but he will turn 26 while we are scotland - 3 days into our three week trip.

my question is: can he get away with getting a youth pass?

since we’d like to travel together, it’s either that or we would both get the adult passes.

As far as I know, as long as he’s 25 on the first day the pass is valid, you should be fine with youth passes Smile

I am traveling for 51 days
Bath, Haltwhistle, London, Füssen, Freiburg, Stuttgart, Speyer, Nördlingen, Salzburg, Hallstatt, Salzburg, Rome, Ostia Antica, Athens, Delphi, Athens

Youth passes are available to travelers who are under the age of 26 on their first day of travel.
This is pasted from the “info center” at www.railpass.com — a pretty good place to look for information.   Sounds like you’re starting out in UK so you will already be 26 by the time you start using a eurail pass.
