Hi,

Sorry if this is a stupid question, but I am confused about the eurail global pass. It allows me travel between countries, I assume it also allows me to travel within a single country ie. taking the train from Rome to Florence?
Thanks
Dale

Your assumption is correct. Have you confirmed that the global pass is the best deal for your needs? If not, the trip planner on this site can help you decide.

You can use your global pass for Rome to Florence, but you may not want to. You can buy that ticket for as little as 28 euros. That may be a better deal than using a day of the railpass.
