Definitely hit Paris if you have not been there before, also, try Switzerland-Zurich and a ski town (Not St. Moritz (To Crowded!)).

I agree on Paris…I also say go to Scotland. I went to Europe for the month of May and Edinburgh was my favorite spot.

If this is your first trip to Europe you should hit up all the biggies: Paris, Amsterdam, London, Edinbrough, Barcelona, Madrid, Interlaken, Berlin, Salzberg, Veinna, Prague. If you don’t want to feel rushed and get the feeling like you are on a whirlwind trip, as people often do on these big Europe trips, you might want to make the city your starting point, and then take trips from there. Pace your self too, the last thing you want is to have traveled arounf Europe for three months, and not be able to remember any of it.

The best places for you will be different than the best places of me, or anyone else. Go where it interests you most rather than off someone elses advice.

you should check the coast of Croatia. It’s stuning and it won’t be so many tourists in June.

Visit the sites your dying to see, but try to hit the small towns, take the off-beaten path. You’ll see so much and get a better feel of the people and the culture of each country. don’t try to pack in too much, just enjoy each place to the absolute fullest.

Zell am See, Austria is great- but extremely cold (highs in june probably around 50F), also interlaken, cinque terre, st. tropez, dubrovnik.

Everyone’s different, and therefore, everyone has different favourites. Take all advice here with a grain of salt, then plan a loose itinerary based on what sparks YOUR interest. You can always change it later.

I agree with Segacs and dj that you should be weary of advice given, but isn’t that the whole point of a messageboard? To help with ideas and to help towards molding an itinerary? I don’t think that this person is asking us to make her itinerary for her, she just wants some ideas.

Anita_v – some of my fav’s are:

- Switzerland – Bernese Oberland region, specifically Gimmelwald.
– Scottish Highlands, specifically the Isle of Skye (and the Macbackpackers daytrip around the island). But all of the highlands are beautiful.
– Paris, Prague, Edinburgh and Florence are my fav cities. I think they are definitely worth seeing and all of which have some pretty good daytrips close-by.

But of course it all depends on what your interests are.

As mentioned previously, try to get to some smaller places as well as the big cities, I think you tend to appreciate these places a little more and it’s a nice break and a slower pace from the bigger cities.

You could also scroll through the pages on this board…most places have been discussed in detail at one point or another and you could see what some travelers have to say about the different places.

2 to 3 months? plenty of time to see many places. you can see big cities, beaches, etc. for a trip of that length it would be a good idea to see switzerland and relax in the middle of your trip. great place to wind down mid-trip. im not sure what regions you want to explore. keep in mind greece is kind of a bitch because it takes so much travel time to roam around the different islands.

Thank you all for your ideas and suggestions. It is most appreciated. My trip is now going ahead in November for 1 month due to some life changes so I will be looking into the itinery planning much sooner than expected.
