Hey,
Me and my friend are going travelling next summer between june and september!
anyone else going travelling round about this time?
what places r you going to?

I’m planing a Erotrip with some friends in August probably. We’re just going round Europe, with Interrail.
I’m planning a trip too during July, although unsure which cities we’ll be visiting yet!
I’m working out details of my trip now. I just fininshed 3 months of western Europ in November. I’m going to visit Canada for Olympic games then go back to eastern Europe and Russia. I should be there from mid march to late August.
Italy, cheq Republic and Spain are can’t miss countries.
Rome, Florence, Milan, Verona, Venice, Vienna, Bucharest, Prešov, Lviv, Kiev, Minsk, Tallinn, Saint-Petersburg, Moscow
i have a rough idea of places i want to go, but kinda want to know what people like and where other people r going.
how long r u going for?
I just finished nearly 3 months in Eastern Europe, it was great. Zurich, was pretty fun, Netherlands was alot of fun, didn’t care for Amstedam as much as I thought I would, Don’t smoke weed, and enjoy use bathroom without a burning sensation so it took it’s other draw away for me. But its a good place to spend a day or so. The rest of the small towns and farming villages in Netherlands was great. Got a great story involving a little old dutch woman with an ax I might share sometime.
Went to Berlin and Bravaria for Octoberfest, bith were good stops. Berlin is very fascinating. A city that prides itself on its recyling, and green innititive.
Prague was next, wonderful city. There marionette shows are quite elaborate, and entertaining, and there apple strudel is the best in the world. The charles bridge is a must, touching the statue of St. John on the bridge will bring you luck, and a return to Prague. But you must do it with your left hand.
Salzburg, Austria was next stop. Got to visit a few spots where sound of music was filmed. It was fun.
Belgium, Brussels was a fun stop. Took a few days at a spa to recharge. Mannequin pis was a very fascinating site to visit. A fountain of a little boy peeing. Very popular. Certain times of year beer is hooked to the pump and flows freely.
Paris was a wonderful stop over, but at this point it was Halloween and learned that it is not celebrated greatly around Europe. But had a wonderful time altogether. Paris was surprisingly bigger than I expected. But plenty to see and do. I would recommend planning a trip for Paris alone at a later date.
Stopped in severel cities in Spain and loved everyone of them. Some of the best food I had in the entire trip. Lot of excitment in the air. But be aware many cities still observe afternoon siesta. A 3 hour lunch break.
Had to get to cross over to Italy after a quick stop in Lisbon but at this point I was rushing through. Had one day stops in Rome, Venice and Verona. All great stops that I plan on revisiting on my next trip.
My next trip will start in South Italy. The plan from there is to start visiting Eastern Block countries. I will leave sometime in the weeks after olympics. Will stay till around September. Will most likely come home once or twice for a week or so to relax.
Any idea’s on when and wher you will go.
Rome, Florence, Milan, Verona, Venice, Vienna, Bucharest, Prešov, Lviv, Kiev, Minsk, Tallinn, Saint-Petersburg, Moscow
We are planning to go at the end of june begining of july just depending on dates for something else.
i would really like to go to netherlands, spain, france and italy not sure exactly which cities of anything just hopefull work our way around them
haha! i want to hear this story about the woman with the axe defo something i need to hear!
Well I decided to leave Amsterdam early since it was a little disappointing for me. So I rented a car and drove through Netherlands. Stop in a few towns and villages. One night it was getting a little late and ended up staying in a very small one bar village.
The only place to stay was a little farm house B&B style place. Got there around nine paid the old man who owned it and he invited me to the bar for a few drinks, since there was nothing else to do.
Had a few drinks with him and went back to get some sleep. At 5:30 in the morning my bedroom door flew open with the aformentioned old lady with the ax. Her grand daughter stood behind her translating for her. Turns out the old man never came home the bar last night and someone has to chop firewood or there will be no breakfast or hot water for showers.
Chopped wood for nearly hour and a half ever time I stopped she stuck her head out the window and yelled more. Finaly finished had my breakfast which was great. Then went to get cleaned up and still no hot water. As I was loading up my car the old man came home. Apologized for having to chop wood. Said he would give me my money back, but he spent it last night and his wife kept the rest locked up.
Was laughing so hard I couldn’t even be mad.
Thats the story of the crazy old lady with the ax
Rome, Florence, Milan, Verona, Venice, Vienna, Bucharest, Prešov, Lviv, Kiev, Minsk, Tallinn, Saint-Petersburg, Moscow
haha! what a crazy lady….altho it is hilarious i think i would have been the same too busy laughing to be mad haha

I’m going next summer, too – I’m backpacking alone for 8 weeks, from June thru August. I’m flying into Athens, traveling through Greece then Italy, then taking the train from Italy across southern France (stopping in Nice), going to Barcelona, then taking the train back north to Paris. From Paris, I’ll go to Zurich, Switzerland, then to Germany. I don’t know much about Germany but I have heard good things about Munich. After Germany, I’ll head to Brussels, then to Amsterdam, where I catch my flight home.
Athens, Rome, Florence, Cinque Terre, Santa Margherita Ligure, Genoa, Venice, Verona, Turin, Menton, Beaulieu-sur-Mer, Antibes, Nice, Barcelona, Toulouse, Barbizon, Paris, Salzberg, Munich, Frankfurt, Brussels, Bruges, Amsterdam
