Eurorail?
Mon, 04/09/2007 - 19:59
I’m going to be in Europe for three weeks. My girlfriend and I are spending a week in Paris, from there we are going to go to Barcelona for about a week, then on to Amsterdam and back to Paris. It looks like the Eurorail select pass is my best bet. Around 270 dollars. Is there a cheaper way? We do not have a ton of money for this trip. Thanks for the help. Also if you have the time about how long are these distances on a train?
Thanks!
You might check into cheap flights. Air travel can be very cheap in Europe, sometimes less than $10 a flight. check out www.ryanair.com for one.
Use www.whichbudget.com to see which budget airlines fly these routes. Look for special bargain fares on the Thalys trains between Paris and Amsterdam at www.thalys.com — sometimes a roundtrip (throw away the return) is cheaper than a one way.
Also look at www.railsaver.com to see which, if any, railpass is best. A 4 day Benelux and France pass and a point to point ticket from the Spanish border to Barcelona should save you about $50 each.
