There are practically only two mountain ranges in Europe, the Alps and the Carpathians (if you don’t plan to visit Balkan or Scandinavia for skiing). The Carpathians’ highest peaks are the High Tatras, located on Slovak/Polish border and are relatively small regarding area. Even though I am a Slovak, living mere 50 miles from High Tatras, for a good time when skiing I would advice you to go to the Alps. There are numerous ski-resorts in France, Switzerland, Germany, Austria and some in Italy, too. My favorite is Val Thorens in France. But go ahead and explore for yourself, all of Alps ski resorts have their well-made websites, usually with descriptions of slopes they offer and prices of hotels around them. Just google it.

Generally, the resorts in the Alps offer very good price/service ratio. You shouldn’t regret.

If you have any questions about Prague or Czech and Slovak republics, ask me.
If you only want to search train or bus connection within Czech&Slovakia and/or to neighboring countries, use www.cp.sk or www.idos.cz search engines. For domestic transport, they also show prices.
