Eurostar and rail pass days question
Wed, 05/23/2007 - 14:37
Well the last minute planning has begun. I am leaving on Sunday and finishing up my itinerary
I have some ??s if anyone can help.
I have a global 10 days in 2 months eurail pass
1) My rail pass says there is an extra charge to take the Eurostar (Italy). Does anyone know how much this extra charge is?
2) I am taking a ferry that arrives in Bari at 8:30am (I am putting the arrival date – so that counts as one of my rail days)…i am then taking a train from bari to la spezia on that SAME DAY from 1:42pm to 12:04am. I want that train ride to be considered the same day as my ferry ride…but what about the 4 minutes into the next day? Am I going to have to put another day on my rail pass since it arrives at 12:04 am?? I dont know how picky they are with this and the rail pass days. Anyone know??
3) do we pay the supplement fee before we get on the train or does someone collect that during the train ride?
4) Do the workers at the train stations speak English??
5) Can you sleep in train stations?? In particular, La Spezia in Italy….is it safe, is it allowed? Also wondering about other areas too.
6) i am taking a train from la spezia to interlaken…there are 3 different changes, all requiring reservations. do i have to make reservations for all three stops or just one reservation from la spezia to interlaken?
Sorry for all the questions but I keep coming up with them with this last minute planning!
THANKS!
This site has been nothing but a huge help in planning my trip!!!! []
