I thought the site started in 1994? Shouldn’t there be older posts than that? Or am I wrong about when the site began?

May have, but the forums were introduced in ’96 I believe. Regardless, that was before my time. . .

I thought I started around summer ’96, but I could be wrong. That first forum format was horrible. I also remember people posting stuff like “help me find the cheapest fare but please, no websites, just phone numbers.” Wayback Machine has ET forums back to April ’97: http://web.archive.o…
Wonder where Andrew is now, probably still here in Glasgow? Never met the guy.
Did other trippers meet him at any of the fests ??
I know Wendyb met Andrew in Scotland.
That Wayback machine is well-named.
’96 is before my time. I started lurking in ’99 but did not join until 2000.
I think I was on here during 98 with a trip in April 99.
Best poster was a guy called Boris, a real internet star.
I joined the summer of 2001. (I wish our correct joining date was shown.) I remember because my first trip was in November after the September 11 attack. My return trip was the day after another plane fell apart and crashed in New York. The stewardess was pushing a cart full of newspapers down the planes aisle with a front page picture of the crashed plane. Not good ‘PR’.

heh
I remember Boris.
And HotHands, and Calvin Klein, and Semi-Christ…
I have seen that older format, that is really horrible, i mean really horrible. I am even member of other forum, but so far the Eurotrip is the best. Even the format is very cool and easy to use. Don’t you all think that.
“The world is a book and those who do not travel read only one page.” (Keep traveling).
I think I lost about 700 posts in one of the conversions, but most of the old-timers lost a lot more. Don must have lost 5,000 posts, cuz I think he had over 10,000.
I think I joined in January of 2000 because I found the Pub and couldn’t lurk anymore.

I really have no idea how many posts I lost, but I seem to remember a feature that showed Don having the most posts of all—and his actually have some substance!
The substance part is funny. Since I’ve been here there have been two upgrades where I’ve losts posts. If I remember correctly I should be about 3500 or so. I lost 1500 last time and a good bit before that.
