Flying out June 1st
Return in August 30th

The agents are telling me that due to my stay in London on both ways is what is going to increase my fares by 25%.
Don, Cil, is that true?

Hey Sam,

It’s possible that you’ll pay the tax (or a fee for the “convenience”) because you decided to stop at Heathrow for a few days.

If you stop only one way, for example, on the way going – Virgin Atlantic is $1411 RT. If you stopped again on the way back (instead of a direct flight with a minor layover in London), it’s around $200 more.

Hope that helps!

@BackpackersGui… You need to remove that link from your signature. We have a no-spam policy. Check your Eurotrip profile guestbook for a link to it.

@Sammo… Maybe. Have you priced it as 2 separate round trips— EWR-LHR, and LHR-DEL? How about as 4 separate one-ways? Use BookingBuddy and the consolidators from our new user thread to price it out each way and see which you prefer. Also, if you can get outbound from EWR to LON before June 1, you might find it somewhat cheaper.

No, I have not yet priced separate ways and really wanted the convenience of one tkt. I have yet to take help from a travel agent hoping to see something reasonable on the Net. I am taking into consideration that it is summer and prices will be higher.

At the same token, i am hearing in UK that the prices will stay like off peak period as the crowd is not making its way there due to the volcanic ash issue.

India is also reeling under the severe and intense heat record although they are stating the rains are coming early this year around may30th, which should deter a lot of people.

Prices seem very unreasonable so let me try again…

What I have decided is to have two separate tickets altogether. One to london from NJ and return and the other from London to Delhi and return.
Either cases, it is coming out really over my budget so if anyone gets anything reasonable please post it here.
Flying out any day from today.
