EWR, PHL, JFK to Europe - any deals?
Wed, 03/16/2011 - 10:54
Hi,
my plan is travel with 2 kids and my wife sometime in June (or July) with Corsica in mind and stay 2 weeks +/- few days. We are open to any combination that can help us save money for airfare. I could fly to Italy or France and take the ferry, no problem. Or I could connect to one of the smaller airlines that operate within Europe.
The question is how to get to Europe and pay less than $1,000 per ticket.
I tried ITA this morning, I have setup few alerts with the WatchDog.
Any suggestions are welcomed.
Thanks.
I see some cheaper options if you’re outbound before mid-June.
Check out Iceland Express from Newark to Europe. Look for cheap flights to Corsica with Skyscanner.com and try to find airports to connect that are served by both airlines. Just keep in mind that on 2 separate tickets, mis-connecting on your own could be costly.
= updated =Also look for XL Airways on JFK-ORY (Paris Orly) booked through Flights.com. From Paris, of course train to Nice, then the high speed ferry? (Or possibly a separate flight form Orly or DeGaulle to Corsica?)
Thank you Don. I keep my eyes on Iceland Express only because they offer a little bit more options as far as period of time. Also Newark, NJ works great for me versus JFK.
The rate is around $825/person (kids get a small discount). – see below –
How is the Reykjavik airport for 1 hour connection?
Thanks again.
