UPDATE:

Okay. We made a bit of changes to our plans!

London (Where we will land) -3 Days
Frankfrut/Munich -family friend here too.. free stay -2 days
Zurich -2 days
Venice -3 days
Florence -4 Dyas
Rome -4 Days
Barcelona -4 Days
Paris -3 days

Hi,

Another friend and I (both girls) are planning to travel around europe for 21-23 days (depends). Here is the list of places we want to go for sure!

1. London (Where we will land) -3
2. Belgium (Brussels) -family friend there.. can crash there for free -2
3. Frankfrut -family friend here too.. free stay -4
4. Milano -2
5. Venice -2
6. Pisa -1
7. Rome -3 days
8. Barcelona -3 days
9. Paris -3days

We have to fly back to Toronto from London.

My friend told me that Pisa is not really worht a long stay. So probably only a day trip there.. then hop on the train and head to Rome. Please let me know if you think i’m spending too much time or too little time in once place!

Also i’ve heard HORROR stories of Italy! But i really want to visit there! any tips?

Also, I’m hoping to spend around $3000 USD. for the whole trip. including airfare to europe. Airfare is around (650-850) depends..

I am leaving from toronto with $3000 for 26 days
London, Zürich, Munich, Venice, Florence, Rome, Nice, Paris

1. Don’t believe the horror stories about Italy. The biggest issue is probably pickpockets in Pisa and Rome — not a problem if you use some common sense.
2. Why Milan? — It’s an interesting day if you haven’t already burned out on cathedrals, otherwise it’s a bustling, busy, business-oriented big city.
3. How do you plan to get from Rome to Barcelona? I’d be inclined to skip the time and expense involved in getting to Spain (visit Spain on your next trip) in order to spend more time in the other countries — possibilities include: an extra day in Brussels to take a day trip to Bruges, an additional day in Rome or Paris for a day trip or time in Florence/Cinque Terre/Tuscany, or even adding Amsterdam.

Listen to oldlady about Milan. I’d skip it and go to Florence instead and make a quick stop in Pisa on your way from Florence to Rome (so go Frankfurt-Venice-Florence-Rome). I don’t see going to Barcelona as a huge hassle. Grab a cheap flight in the morning and you can be in Barcelona around noon.

Yea! I will probably be taking the plane to barcelona!

I think I will skip milan than! Not worth it!

I will probably add tuscany and florence!

What do u guys think about my budget? Is it enough? If its a bit tight I might ihave to cut out a city! Which I don’t really want to do!!

Taking your budget as $3000 and say your airfare is the max predicted of $850. That will leave you roughly $100 a day. It is doable but it may be a bit tight as some of the city’s are expensive that you are visiting and you will still have to factor in transportation between city’s which is generally your biggest expense along with accommodation. Any extra cash that you can save up would be helpful.

Mmm.. so you think either i need a bigger budget for what i’ve planned or basically go to less places!

But.. i will have accomdations for free in germany and Brussels! those places will include food probably! So do you think it will kind of help?

So I’m the other person going… we found the cheapest flight to be roughly $750CDN

I think that the budget can be flexible… I would love to know how the EU train pass works because I think we could save by travelling at night.

That will help a great deal and will cut the cost of staying in those place’s by possibly up to half. Anything for free is always good.

Unless he’she is a really good friend, I’d cut Frankfurt down to a day…or have your friend take you by car to some of the outlying areas. Alxso, Pisas isn’t really a day. Most people look at the tower, maybe have lunch and then move on

I’ve never used this site to book, as the booking feature is relatively new. I’ve stayed in several of the hotels from this site, though not any of the hostels. All were great places, the ratings were either right on, or I would have rated the place even higher. The prices on this site are lower than I’ve seen anywhere else.

Can you recommend any hotels/hostels for me and my friend for the places we will be going to. I think having air conditioning is a must! Everything else is neglible.
