First time in EU, tips needed
Wed, 05/16/2007 - 14:47
HI
I’m going to EU next week, i have the eurail unlimited, 15 days pass and i plan to sleep in night train while “trying” to visit a lot o capital, without going to a hotel or hostel.
Now i’m reading about train reservation and booking in advance.
Since i don’t know where ill be heading inside those 2 weeks, i cannot make the reservation
I’m wondering if i can get a reservation in the morning before the same day night train.
Also, anyone can tell me if the trains are Wi fi enabled, so i could use my laptop ?
Make your reservations at the train station after you get to Europe. A good tip is to make the reservation for the train you plan to take when you leave a city upon arrival in that city — before you leave the train station so you don’t have to make a trip back.
It’s best to make reservations for overnight trains about 3 days in advance, but you can usually get some kind of seat or berth on some overnight train (maybe not a direct one, or maybe one that leaves from a different station) on departure day. Friday and Sunday nights are the busiest, so try to make reservations for those nights.
A few trains are wifi enabled, at least in 1st class. Hotel trains probably are, but they’re very expensive.
