five weeks in europe, what to do?
Wed, 05/05/2010 - 23:15
a friend and I bought round trip tickets to and from london from the end of May to July 7th. were 20, have a $5000 budget (which we dont plan on totally spending!), and are looking for a cultural/natural experience (forests, fjords, countryside etc). we’re open to any suggestions!!
I am leaving from Lax with $5000 for 42 days

Forests, mountains, fjords? There are the Pyrenees, the Alps, the Carpathians, Scandinavia, Balkans…
Probably the best combination of mountain and seaside sceneries is the Scandinavia and the Balkans (former Yugoslavia). Where do you plan to go?
If you have any questions about Prague or Czech and Slovak republics, ask me.
If you only want to search train or bus connection within Czech&Slovakia and/or to neighboring countries, use www.cp.sk or www.idos.cz search engines. For domestic transport, they also show prices.
we were actually thinking about spending most of our time in scandanavia, but i really wanna see prague and my friend has never been to europe at all so i’d love to show him italy, maybe france, etc. can you recommend any cool forests in scandanavia? do you know how to get in contact with any tours for fjords or any forests? we are considering going to copenhagen, stockholm, and bergen (along with amsterdam, brussels, and bruges).

Check guidebooks for national parks. I personally like the Sirdal region in Norway, but pretty much any interior parts of Norway are remote with forest and mountains.
posted rough itinerary, can anyone recommend not to miss sites/nature? esp. for prague, dont know much about the city
