Flights to Croatia/Slovenia
Tue, 01/23/2007 - 19:49
Does anyone have any good ideas/tips on how to get a good flight from NYC to either Croatia or Slovenia in late March- early April. What airlines are worth checking out? So far I’ve seen that Austrian airelines has the best deal, around $800 to Zagreb. I’ve noticed that prices are better to Zagreb than to Ljubljana, but maybe there is another airport nearby that is cheaper to fly into, like Trieste perhaps? Also I’d like to go to Dubrovnik as well, but flights there are expensive. The other probem is that I would like to fly into one airport and out of another to save some travel time and some money (usually it’s cheaper this way). Any ideas?
Croatia is expensive to fly to from the US. We went last Sept. and decided to buy cheap tickets to London and flew from there with one of the low cost carriers. There’s quite a few flights from london to croatia and you can also fly to slovenia. I think some of the flights to croatia are seasonal so, not sure if they’ll be operating yet.
Yeah, Austrian immediately comes to mind because I think I saw their Croatia sale fares on the Travelzoo link I posted yesterday. Also try Lufthansa, www.weflyhome.com Otherwise, like konakitty mentioned, it could be significantly cheaper to go via London or another UK airport from New York, then add separate flights using the low cost airlines like Easyjet, Avro, or Thomson.
