Flying to London from Chicago
Mon, 04/26/2010 - 17:42
Hi,
I’m looking for flights for my honeymoon to London in October i’d like to leave from Chicago October 17 or 18 and return on the 24..
the cheapest I’ve found is $808 for a nondirect flight and $924 for a direct flight? It’s been a while since I’ve flown to Europe and am wondering if these are good fares- should I expect cheaper fares in the months to come etc? Anyone have any advice??

In previous Octobers, yes, it’s been cheaper than 924 for a nonstop flight to London from Chicago. 600-700 is more like it. With reduced capacities, and rising fuel costs—and the fact that it’s too early for much Fall discounting already—924 does not surprise me.
Have you tried the links and strategies in our new user thread at top of cheap flights forum?
yes, I read the “guidelines” and tried ITA etc.
I guess it’s too early then? Does anyone have an idea of when the airlines will start discounting for fall??
thanks!!!
There might have already been 1 or 2 small sales into Fall, but the bulk of them usually don’t start until late June or later. However, it never hurts to start shopping early, because a good sale could pop up at any time. If you have not already, then be sure to sign up for sale alerts for CHI – LON with Airfarewatchdog and Farecompare (those 2 are very good for alerts, IMHO).
yeah, i’m always on the lookout. hopefully i’ll find something fairly cheap!! thanks!
