So of the eople that have flown with zoom what are you impressions? Do they have any sort of cancellation policy or anything like that. The reason being is that my friend isnt 100% when his passport is getting here and 2 if for some unforseen reason we need to come home early( run out of money haha, ect). Im new to travel so i was wondering how you get around these problems. Zoom airlines seems to be the cheapest for flights form canada in septemer, returning before christmas. Thanks for the help.
The cheaper a ticket costs, the tougher it gets to have it refunded/exchanged.
I’d say I’m 99.99% certain zoom has “no refunds, no exchanges even if the hell breaks loose” policy.
Check “terms and conditions” which they must disclose during purchase process to find out for sure.
Travel insurance can help with some emergencies, but not with not getting your passport nor with running out of money. Even so, with travel insurance you usually have to pay first and get paid back later.
Actually, the change policies are more agreeable than I thought, but still not great, particularly for a change on short notice:

CHANGES
If you wish to change your booking details after we have confirmed your flight, we will do our best to assist you. Changes to your confirmed ticket can be made up to 29 days prior to your departure date for an administration fee of £25/$50/€35 per person per change, plus any increase in ticket price or taxes. No refund will be provided if the cost of your replacement ticket goes down as tickets are non-refundable. If you have booked a return ticket the 29 day timeline for changes will be calculated from each sector’s departure date. The amendment and administration fees will be charged in the currency in which the booking was made and must be paid at the time of the change.
Changes requested less than 29 days prior to your departure will incur cancellation penalties (see section titled “cancellations without insurance”), exceptions may be made if you are moving your departure date forward. Name changes are allowed up to 48 hours prior to departure and will be charged a fee of $200/£100/€125 per name change. All tickets are non-refundable outside of cancellation net refunds. Administration fees are due at the time of the change and are non-refundable
I’ve flown with Zoom and never had any problems. I remember getting some cancellation insurance from Zoom when I bought my ticket. I think it was around $40. I bought the tickets about 8 months in advance since there was a good sale on, so I figured insurance was a good option then. I’ve had lots of friends use them too, since it is a cheap option from Canada, and none of them have had any major problems either.
Hello Nivid, I know I have seen the answers on another thread but cannot seem to find it. How small are the seats on the Zoom when they say it is 31” where as premium economy is 36”?
I was a little surprised to see that when i was trying to book it now, they asked for 60USD for it and 10USD for economy.
Is this the norm?
Is 31” the standard in rest of the airlines?
London, Brussels, Basel, Paris, London
31” is used on Air Canada Boeing flights to London (Airbus have a bit more room). It’s also used by several major airlines I can think of. See www.seatguru.com .
I have no idea what seats are like on any airline, since i’m pretty easy going and will put up with alot for a cheap ticket![] I don’t remember Zoom being any smaller than a major airline, and I know it’s definitly better than some of the charter’s i’ve flown before.
