Hi!
Has anyone been to France in July and seen any of the Tour de France? Besides being in Paris for the finish, is there any relatively easy way to see other parts of the race? The route can be found at www.letour.fr – and I was thinking about starting around Marseille, heading north to St. Etienne for the time trial, and then north to Paris for the finish. Is there anything to do/see in St. Etienne that would make it worth going there for the time trial? Also – most likely, trains and buses will be packed because of the race – is there a way to reserve spots with a rail pass? We were looking to get the France Youth Pass – but werent sure if everyone else had the same idea. Any help for planning this trip would be greatly appreciated! It would be me (23) and my boyfriend (24) with a 1-2 weeks to spend in France. We are not going ONLY for the Tour de France (so don’t want to spend a ton of $ on a "Tour" tour) – but would like to see some it while we are there.
Thank you so much for any help!!
