Frankfurt to Prague - and all the options
Wed, 06/27/2007 - 11:13
I’m flying into Frankfurt (10 am) here in about 6 days and want to leave the city as soon as possible. I’ve looked into some options for places to visit on my way to Prague and am wondering everyone’s thoughts on the best place to stop. I have a selectpass, so I’ll need to buy a ticket from the border to Prague. I’m wondering if I should buy one from Dresden to Prague or Nurenberg to Prague? Or if there is a border town where the tickets into Prague would be cheaper and I’d get more usage out of my pass.
Only thing I’m worried about it is it has to be overnight (like leaving Nurenberg before midnight and arriving in Prague in the AM).
I’m still confused about how the whole “buy a ticket to cover the Czech leg” works, but I’m sure I can figure that out once I arrive.
Main concern is seeing some cool stuff in Germany for about 7 hours. My boyfriend is really into WWII and history and I’ve read both Dresden and Nurenburg are good for this. Just wondering if there are any suggestions out there.
Thanks.
Just buy a ticket from the border to Prague at the airport and stopover somewhere along the way. Dresden is the most likely place for this as most itineraries will make you change trains there for Prague. The agent at FRA will know what the border town is between Dresden and Prague and charge you for a ticket from there on.
