California courts have just knocked down a long-standing law that requires the state to automatically oppose child adoption applications from gay or lesbian adults, whether single or coupled. Many of the fundamentalist groups are outraged here.

What are the laws like in other states, other countries, on this issue? Do you see any problems with permitting such adoptions?
