I will be in Heidelberg for 3 weeks, staying with my boyfriend who is working there. What day trips are recommended (and safe) for me to take? I really want to see the Eltz castle. How far is that, and what is the recommended mode of transportation. Also, are there any day tours down the Rhine?

I would think that any trip you want to take will be safe as long as you aren’t actively seeking out the rougher parts of town.

You should travel by trains in germany that is the best way to travel over there .
