This is a helpful reminder that many people over look. You are going to be walking miles and miles and miles everyday. Get in shape. Every church, museum, and vista is going to require far more walking and stairs than you are used to. Believe me. After months of traveling your favorite Michaelangelo on the forth floor will be left unseen. Stairs will be your archenemy. Also, Don’t buy your shoes two weeks before you leave. Break them in well in advance. Be prepared for blisters, calouses, and stinky feet. You may not shower everyday or even change socks. And plan to loss some weight. I am 6’1" 180lbs and I lost 10-15lbs in three months. but this is all part of the trip. and in the end you’d do it all over again.
