Trying to get from Bruges to Interlaken in the fastest, cheapest, and most efficient way. Been looking into train travel, and have been quite confused by the variety of apparent possibility. Also been going through the flight websites, and haven’t found anything even remotely in my range. Any advice on the best way to do it by train, or perhaps a website or company to use for flight travel, would be really really helpful. I’m leaving for Belgium next monday, and want to head to Interlaken by saturday (probably take a night train friday). Anything you can offer would be appreciated, because I’m really rather lost on my own here!

Use the German rail website for schedules anywhere in Europe: http://reiseauskunft… This is not a good route for the train. The “best” overnight train may be the one at 17:31 — it only has one connection, but that’s a 5 hour layover in Basel (involving 2 train stations, but they should be an easy walk apart). Two other options start out with the same train at 17:31 but involve connecting 3 or 4 times to avoid the long layover in Basel and get you into Interlaken a shade earlier.

I would be looking for a cheap flight from Brussels (or somewhere nearby) to another Swiss city (maybe Basel), then train to Interlaken. Use www.whcihbudget.com to see which lowfare airlines fly which routes and perhaps post this on “cheap flights” for other advice.
