going to Ireland
Thu, 01/29/2009 - 01:12
I’m going on a Eurotrip this coming June, and I really want to spend a week in Ireland. I go there for scenic sights mainly. So I really want green lawns, coasts, and just pure beauty. what cities do you suggest?
I am leaving from Montreal with $2100 for 41 days
Belgrade, Munich, Berlin, Amsterdam, Paris, Rome, Florence, Venice, Dublin, Galway, Killarney, Cork, Munich

Dingle
Galway
Cliffs of Moher
Day trips out of Dublin:
Powerscourt
Glendalough
What he said..
Focus on Galway as a base, and from there you can go down to Dingle, see some of Connemara, and maybe up to Sligo… Those places are pretty much what you’re after I’d say.. I hitchhiked once from Galway to Sligo to Donnegal – was all great.. Including that little seaside town were Mountbatten was killed.. You HAVE to get down to Dingle though..
Dublin is a cool city and all…., but it’s still just a city. The west of Ireland is where it’s at.
Kilkenny is another day trip from Dublin — lots and lots of green lawns at Kilkenny castle.
Kilkenny is a good destination.. Bit touristy, but the natural park there is fantastic..
Most beautiful place I ever saw in Ireland(possibly the world..) was the Gap of Dunloe, not too far from Kilkenny I think..
I had planned to spend 4 days in Dublin and left after 2 – although I thought Phoneix Park was pretty cool. We wound up spending time in Galway and made trips from there. You should definetly see the Cliffs of Moher! Such an amazing view!!
