I [=“times new roman”]have a family group of 15 of us going to Europe next year & I’m curious if there is any advantage traveling in a group… consolidators/charters etc or are we just better off going after individual deals when the time comes? Thanks.[/]

The definitive answer is… maybe.

I have noticed a few airlines that still have group sales for more than 9 travelling together. The typical discount is 10%. However, it might not always apply to the cheapest sale fares, in which case you would be better to snag as many of the sale seats as possible, or at least 5, then the other 10 of you might do better on the group rate. Group sales usually require you contact the airline via their group sales email address. You can find those via the website of airlines serving the route that you need.

Also, post your itinerary, and I’ll (or we’ll Smile be glad to point you to some fares that might be helpful.

I highly doubt that a charter would be cheaper. Chartering a transoceanic flight is a very expensive proposition.
