OK, I keep changing my travel plans…now I’m thinking of flying into Hanoi, heading south to Saigon, cutting across Cambodia, and ending with a few days in Bangkok.

Has anyone spent any time in Vietnam? (or Cambodia?) I think I’ll probably spend a little more time in the north. Has anyone done any backpacker bus trips there? On other message boards, I’ve read about trips sponsored by hostels, backpacker places, etc.—I’m just looking for a little more first hand experience?

Any hotel/hostel recommendations?

Any ideas/suggestions/endorsements/warnings?
