I’m thinking about getting a work permit for Germany this summer. I’d only really need "casual" work — waiting tables or working in a hotel or something; whatever pays the bills and leaves a little left over for some travel and nightlife. However, I know that the unemployment rate in Germany is horrendous, so is it next to impossible to get a job? Am I a fool for even trying, or are there still opportunities in casual work? Any specific areas where the job outlook is bright?
