Hi there,
I am planning a year long trek into the south pacific. I am definately going to spend some months in southern india, indonesia, and perhaps the phillipines, sri lanka, and/or other proimate islands? I’d like to get to madagascar but its far me thinks.
I’d like some help with the tickets and transportation info if you all know it. I want at least long term ticket or an open-ended one, whichever is cheaper. It looks like the phillipines is the cheapest to fly into, then indonesia, then india? I was wondering about the cheapest way to fly, where to look for tickets with return dates after 1 yr, and how to find prices for flight between each of the respective countries.
I’d also like some general advice on areas. Indonesia and India are at the top of my list. I want to spend months in places rather than travel all over. I travel more for the experience of living everyday life than for seeing sites. I figure i will hit up a country per season, so four. The countries I am choosing between would be sri lanka, the phillipines, new zealand, east timor, papua new guinea, and all the islands I know not enough about but wish I did.
I’ve never been to the tropics so I appreciate any advise you can give.
Thanks! TOdd
