I’m going to Ireland for two weeks in September and I know that buses and trains can be a little difficult there. I’ve heard people say that hitchiking in Ireland is fairly safe and easy, and one person even said that she’d recommend it to solo female travellers.

Well I’m female and going solo. So I’ve been entertaining the notion a little more seriously lately since I’ve been discovering the limitations of the good ol’ transit system in Ireland.

Does anyone have any do’s and don’ts for hitchiking? Any tips and tricks?
