Has anyone ever celebrated Hogmanay in Edinburgh?

Looking at seeing in 2012 there!!! Then on New Years Day, looking at joing in the Loony Dook, followd by Up Helly AA 3 weeks later D:

I have, but it was such a lo-ong time ago (1974-75) that my experience is likely irrelevant.
One thing that I do remember that might still be pertinent is that the celebration just keeps going on—it’s not necessarily one night. We left Edinburgh and went up to Aberdeen, and they were still celebrating in the streets two days later.
Apparently you have to have tickets these days, and make serious lodging plans quite early.
But it looks like you are aware of that.

Yeah unfortunately sucks having to buy tickets, but it then means I get entry!
Been going through the website, and they havent started selling tickets for this years yet. But been looking at accom for around tht time and looking a bit expensive Frown will just have to save up more money
