Not long left untill i’m off to Europe, and i have only pre-booked 1 hostel in Amsterdam, which is the first place we will be visiting. I havn’t bothered booking any hostels in the other city’s were going, as well we know where were going, but just not when we might be getting there. Didn’t want to run our trip on a tight schedule.

getting to the point. I’m wondering how easy or hard is it to just walk into a hostel and get a bed for the night, without booking?
I’m imagining quite hard, as july and august are the busiest months, with lots of fellow travellers.

I am traveling for 27 days
Amsterdam, Berlin, Munich, Prague, Budapest, Vienna, Venice, Rome, Florence, Monaco, Barcelona, Paris

Not really, just make sure you know of more than one. When I went to Prague last year all I had was 3 addresses of hostels I knew of. First one was full so I went to the next one 2 blocks away and had a room.

Lots of times the staff can make recs, too.
We showed up at one place that was booked solid, but they knew of another spot just a couple blocks away.

you can just walk in there.. but since it’s the busiest months.. you should know more hostels to check in
