Hostel Pricing
Mon, 03/14/2011 - 12:21
I have a question on Hostel/ Bed & Breakfast pricing. I am traveling throughout Europe with my fiance and I was looking at room pricing and am hoping somebody could help. If I was to book a private room with say a queen size bed, do the places still charge per person or is it per room? Hopefully somebody has ran into this predicament before and can give some advice. I’m thinking it would just be cheaper to stay at a normal hotel if I’m going to get charged per person everywhere we go. We’d ideally like to stay in BnBs but do most of these still charge per person? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

It depends where you are seeing the listing. If it is being listed on any backpacking site (like Eurotrip) or hostel booking site (Hoteslworld, hostelz, hostbookers, etc.) then it is usually priced per person. If it is the hostel’s website, it depends. It usually is stated somewhere. What hostel?

One of the ones is this:

I couldn’t find anything but thanks for the advice. I’ll probably check an Expedia or something like that to see if I can find anymore details about price per room or person.

If you go through with the booking on the hostel you’ve linked you’ll see lots of options for room types. If you pick a double you will find that the only option you can enter for number of travelers is 2 and it doubles the price. Hostels almost always list price per person.
I’ve frequently found the same hotel significantly cheaper on this site than it is on Expedia….
Since you are looking on our site, it is per person. If you clicked through you, you would have seen this:
