Hostel Reservations
Fri, 07/09/2010 - 15:57
My friend and I are traveling across Western Europe for 5 weeks in September and October. We want to try and be as flexible as possible and not be tied down to too many reservations and a set schedule. We have a general itinerary set as of right now but it’s just an outline. Just wondering if reservations for hostels are necessary to make way in advance? Or will we be ok booking a day or two in advance or even showing up without a reservation? Any advice would be much appreciated, thanks!
I am leaving from New York City with $3800 for 35 days
Dublin, London, Paris, Amsterdam, Berlin, Prague, Munich, Venice, Rome, Florence, Cinque Terre, Interlaken, Avignon, Barcelona, Madrid

Until mid-september, it’s still fairly busy in a lot of Europe (in southern Germany, til even later due to Oktoberfest). I would at least book your first 2-3 cities and then book as you go from there.
On another note, we’ll be in London at the same time in September! Awesome!
London, Salisbury, Cardiff, Manchester, Edinburgh, Inverness, Edinburgh, London
Venice, Cinque Terre, Pisa, Florence, Rome, Sorrento, Rome
Bangkok, Phnom Penh, Sihanoukville, Phnom Penh, Siem Reap, Bangkok
