Hello,
I’m going to Europe for the first time in October with my girlfriend and I’m having a hard time finding a hostel or hotel with a fair price. Is there no place to stay in london for a reasonable price?
I prefer to stay in a private room. In other countries that I have searched it’s cheaper to stay in a hotel than in a private room in a hostel.
I’ve been looking in booking.com and using eurotrip’s search engine, but I couldn’t find anything vlose to 50-60 pounds a day, except for the “easyhotel.com”. Is it good? I know it’s really small but that I don’t mind, since it has a great location. That’s another problem, everything is far from de center and also expesive.

Does anyone has a tip? Where can I find something?

Thanks!

Where in both cities do you want to stay? I’m guessing old town for Edinburgh, but London’s huge, do you want to be near a particular station or landmark?

Next to the main attractions, walking distance from the center, something around Victoria, waterloo…

For Edinburgh is Old Town indeed. I’m also staying 3 days driving around the highways, also not sure the best place to stay.

Yea, even off season you’re really out of luck. For edinbrugh, you might have to settle on being outside of city centre. For London, try to find something cheap that’s walking distance from the Tube and just commute to Victoria station, which really isn’t too bad. Also, check the Generator hostel which is on sale (the date I checked was October 4) you migth get lucky.
