  1. go to the topic you want to pin
  2. click on the edit tab
  3. at the bottom there should be checkbox that says something like “sticky at top”, check it
  4. submit the topic and it should be pinned

on the front page of the forum there is ‘Mark all forums read’ and if you go into one of the categories there is ‘Mark all topics read’.

basically, when you are on the front page of the forum, you should see all the new activity in the forum in the forum of ‘# new’ and such under each of the topics. if you click on ‘Mark all forums read’, it will mark all of those new entries as read, so they will no longer be considered new.

also, if you look on the top right, there is a link to ‘Unread Activity’ in the ‘Forum Activity’ block. you can browse the new activity by clicking on Unread Activity. if you use the ‘Mark all forums read’, it will clear that list completely. or if you use ‘Mark all topics read’, it will remove the topics from the list for the category you marked as read.

when you use the ‘Mark all … read’ it will give you a notice at the top of the screen that says something to the effect of “All forum posts have been marked as read”.

if this is not what you are getting, can you give me a bit of a step by step of what is happening so i can try to figure out what is going on.

thanks…

Sorry….let me be more clear….
When I click on the ‘Mark all topics read’ or the ‘Mark all forums read’ buttons, nothing happens. I move the little arrow around and when it turns to a pointing finger I click…It does not reset the forum.. Nothing happens…. Everytime I log on I have an ever growing New messages number Smile

Does it work for anyone else?

my bad, this is a bug… since i don’t use IE i am still working through some of the bugs for it.

as a work around for right now (i will try to get it fixed today); use the ‘Mark all … read’ using firefox and it will work. i will try to get it working with IE today. thanks for pointing this out.
