How to survive boredom?
Sat, 06/18/2005 - 14:35
Hey travel people!!!
What do you do when boredom hits you after a long traintrip??? Are there any games, books or things that will make the trip a bit more fun?

I recommend a deck of playing cards. Lots you can do with that.
I write in my journal a lot during train/bus journeys, and I always make sure I have at least one book to read with me. Playing cards is fun when you’re not alone, but only when you can sit around a table. I sometimes bring a book of crossword puzzles, but I usually forget I even have it. Reading up on your next destination is a good way to pass the time too, or studying the language of your next country.
I agree with seraphim
A book and your journal should do the trick.
Trust me, the boredom usually doesn’t last more than 6-8 hrs (especially if you’re keeping your eyes open and enjoying your surroundings).
People watching alone can cure boredom temporarily
Alchohol, and lots of it.
I also bring my discman.
Touching myself or others (in)appropriately.
Hvad gøre du i Norge? Der ikke er en forskel, Ok medmindre lidt ferieskærlighed
Thanks a lot guys!
I’ll definately take a journal with me. It will probably be pretty fun to read when I get home too. Can’t risk forgetting anything that happens.
Happy travels everyone! I’m off to rome on Friday
Take a cheap edition to a good book, then you can trade it with other backpackers
