Italy to Greece?
Sun, 06/05/2011 - 09:54
So I guess my main question is this: How do you travel from Italy to Greece (Santorini, Corfu, Crete, Athens) by train/ or ferry?
And which is the BEST option. Train or ferry?
Should I book advance?
Eurail says that you can get from italy to greece by train… but I have a hunch this would take days.
Please offer suggestions/ tips. This is my first eurotrip & I want to explore France, Italy, & Greece.
I am leaving from DETROIT with $4000 for 31 days
Detroit, Dublin, Paris, Venice, Florence, Cortona, Rome, Corfu, Athens, Santorini, Paris

:Live, Laugh, Love, TRAVEL:
I would look for a cheap flight first. Use www.whichbudget.com to see which low fare airlines fly which routes and see our “cheap flights” forum for more links, tips and help — especially the “new users” sticky.
Second choice for me would be ferry. Eurail considers Greece and Italy to be connected because of the ferry service, not because of the train service through the Balkans, although it is possible to do overland. Some of the ferries are covered by a rail pass.
