I have 3 weeks off at work and I have decided to spend Christmas with my good friend who just moved to Berlin.  I can leave as early as December 21 and I need to be back on January 13.  The only coutries I have not toured in central/eastern Europe are the baltic states as well as Poland and Ukraine.  I am leaning to plan a trip that would would take me through&nbspoland, then Moravia and then fly out of Prague.  Since I will be on a budget, I need to stay in e. europe.  I was thinking:

Berlin (fly in)
Warsaw
Krakow
Zakopane/Tatras
Oleamec/Moravia
Prague (fly out)

I also would consider the baltic region but I dont know a good game plan for that.  Any suggestions/recomendation/etc. would be much appreciated.

I think the route you’ve planned is probably the best.  I recommend adding in Wroclaw before Krakow, but other than that it sounds like a good plan

Thanks, HD.  Do you have any suggestions for southern Poland?  I am looking to get up in the mountains maybe do some skiing and relax.  Are there any better towns than Zakopane that I could fit in on this route?

Zakopane is one of my favourite areas in Poland, you may want to also check out Wadowice in that region, the birth place of JPII.  There’s some decent skiing there as well
