Im looking to go to dublin from 4/19-4/26 from Jfk.  Unfortunatly dates arent really too flexible.  I found a price of $504 on Delta or Aer Lingus.  Should i book now or wait another couple of months?  With taxes I didnt think i would be able to find much less than $475. Does anyone have a strong feeling to Delta or Lingus? Thanks in advance.

I see Delta at $483 and Lingus at $486 those dates. With taxes covering $80 or so, fuel surcharges about $130, that’s $275 round trip to the airline itself, and that’s really good for Saturdays in late April. Farecompare’s fare history on this route confirms this. I’d book at this price.

Lingus vs. Delta for this trip… it’s just a basic transatlantic hop of less than 7 hours, so I’d choose whichever frequent flyer program these miles would best help with. Since you mention JFK, that’s a Delta hub, and they’ve got lots of flights from there, so if that’s your home airport, I say choose Delta. Nothing wrong with Lingus, but they’ve shifted to a low-cost service model from all I’ve read and heard.

You can also check www.seatguru.com to compare seat dimensions and amenities, but I think they have similar services between NYC and Ireland. Delta uses a 767 on this route; Lingus uses an Airbus 330. On further inspection… looks like Lingus isn’t listed there, or at www.seatexpert.com but I do see a recent review here: www.airlinequality.c…
