Pretty stoked cause just arranged for my first visit to Asia next June for about 3 weeks, yeah! Got a 2 day layover in KL, then fly into Saigon. I’ve been reading other’s postings on the area and it sounds like Vietnam and Cambodia are hot spots to visit, not quite as discovered. I originally was going to go to Thailand but since I was using frequent flyer miles, was limited to my ultimate destination by available seats but pretty happy with the result anyway.
Thinking of immediately flying to Siem Rep from Saigon to see the Ankor temples. Wondering if it is possible to feasibly go overland to northern Vietnam from there as I’d love to see Sapa hills (spelling?). Then I guess make my way south as I will fly out of Saigon. Any thoughts, suggestions?
Oh, while this is my first trip to SE Asia, I’ve traveled independently to portions of Central America, Peru, northern Africa, Europe (extensively) and Australia. So I am not too worried about being a sole female there but if you have recommendations, pass along.
Thanks!
