LA
Wed, 05/31/2006 - 02:34
I am going to LA area in a few weeks, I am going by myself because I am going on an archaeological dig. There are a few things I am going to see but one thing was wondering about is… I don’t want to rent a car.. it seems kind of scary to drive there so I would like to take the bus, trains and stuff, so I am wondering how hard is it to get around without a car. I am staying in the pasadena area and I have one weekend off where I want to go to univeral studios and the walk of fame. How is the transit system???? One more question… is there any way I can get rubbings of the stars when I am on the walk of fame? I really don’t want to bring paper and stuff with me. Sorry if I confused anyone.
i agree about the car…farout theyre crazy on those multi lanes lol
try to get out to palmsprings…its something very different from canada
get the cablecar up to sanjacinta national park…its real indian country and soooooooooooooooo beautiful
bus is the way to go ..good pub transport
dont know about rubbings but id take a digital and get a snapping with it!
I would rent a car. LA has public transportation but it takes forever to get around. Just remember to avoid driving at peak traffic times like 7-9am and 5-7pm and you should be ok. Driving around here is fine once you get used to it. There are so many beautiful places to see and the nightlife is very fun. Check out melrose and sunset for the bars. There are plenty of museums like Huntington library and Ghetty center which are wonderful. Try the different foods from Korean foods in korea town and chinese food in china town to brazilian bbq to cuban, thai, etc. Old town Pasadena is nice to talk around in. Im not sure where in LA you plan on staying but the beaches in Orange county like newport, laguna and balboa island is very worthwhile.
To see the lastest traffic jams check out www.sigalert.com and just aviod the traffic. Have fun on your trip!
